Queen Beatrix to open the 2012 Floriade in Venlo

It has recently been announced that Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands will
officially open the Floriade on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 4 in Venlo.
Queen Beatrix is the patroness of Floriade 2012.
According to a press release published by the tourist bureau:
More than 100 participants will come together to pay tribute to horticulture
at the biggest event on the Dutch calendar in 2012. The park consists of
five unique worlds linked by wooded areas, in which the world's most beautiful
gardens and pavilions will be on show for a full six months.

As in previous years, Floriade 2012 is a global spectacle in which many dozens
of countries are taking part. Sustainable, innovative architectural eye-catchers
are the first ports of call at Floriade. There is also a daily cultural program
packed to the brim with music, dance, theatre and graphic art from all over
the world.
